Ealah Gundogs and Photography was started in 2020 by Jamie Sullivan: dog trainer and keen photographer.
Gaelic for Swan and S.W.A.N being mnemonic for Sula, Wolf, Adder and Nacho (Jamie's first four dogs) - Ealah began.
About Ealah
I grew up on the Isle of Lewis, in a village called Barvas. I started training my first dog, Sula, aged 17 on the Barvas machair and moved to the mainland to pursue dog training aged 18. I worked in the rolling hills of Perthshire at Mordor Gundogs and there, my passion for working dogs flourished. The Ealah family began to grow with the introduction of Wolf, my first Springer Spaniel, and Nacho, a Cocker Spaniel. Then came Adder, a black Labrador, Marco the Springer Spaniel and most recently, Barley and Titan.
The Ealah story is really just beginning as the dogs and I settle into the beautiful area around Aberfeldy with my girlfriend, Jen. She enjoys having her part in the training and is the on-site vet, helping keep our dogs happy and healthy.
Training Lessons

I believe dogs can be relatively easy to train, however, it is the owners that are often the difficult ones!
All lessons are tailored to you and your dog.
Block bookings recommended for
Dog photoshoots can be included with lessons.
COVID-19 protocol: all lessons outside and social distancing maintained throughout.
Puppy Lesson
A lesson aiming to provide you and your puppy with the perfect start. Focussed on basic obedience such as sitting, staying, heeling and recall. All whilst keeping it fun for your puppy.
Pet Obedience Lesson
Lessons include fine tuning the basic obedience learnt as a puppy whilst putting you and your dog in more challenging training situations. No age limit - even old dogs can learn a few new tricks!
Gundog Lesson
Challenging retrieves, hunting and whistle work. Everything you and your gundog will need to get ready for the real deal!
Meet The Family
Sula
Sprocker Spaniel
The oldest and wisest of the family and the reason Ealah exists, Sula is a 7 year old Sprocker Spaniel. He is a lovely family pet and the most reliable dog out on any shoot or Sunday dog walk.
Wolf
English Springer Spaniel
A complete all-rounder, field trial winner and seasoned sofa snoozer. Wolfie has the sweetest nature and never ending energy. A tennis ball is the way to his heart!

Barley
Working Cocker Spaniel
Arguably the cutest member of the Ealah pack, Barley is a hard-working gundog but still rather cheeky! She shines through her retrieving although equally enjoys sleeping on your lap. She's the ideal working pet and our first breeding bitch - mother to Taco.

Titan
Labrador Retriever
Titan is a typical Labrador, a quiet and loving nature but plenty of energy when training and out walking as she tries her best to keep up with all the spaniels! She is very eager to please so makes an easy dog to take out shooting. She is the mother to Bernard.
